The name of the watch is a tribute to the Venetian submarine called Nereide which was built in the Royal Arsenale in 1913 and commissioned to the engineer De Bernardis by the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Manufactured by Meccaniche Veneziane from a hard, corrosion-resistant ceramic, the Ceramic bezel insert is virtually scratch-proof and its color is unaffected by ultraviolet rays, seawater or water that is chlorinated.
GMT stands for “Greenwich Mean Time” and measures current local time as well as at least one other time-zone. It allows you to be fully connected to distant realities, by displaying an additional time zone on a 24-hour scale on the watch dial and a fourth hand.
The Nereide GMT Collection has been developed to fully satisfy the most demanding collectors.
